Kavevangua Kahengua, a descendant of the Herero who sought refuge in Botswana during the wars of 1904-7, grew up listening to his grandmoth-er’s stories. He returned to Namibia in 1993. He is married with two children. He believes strongly that the very fact of being born into a society qualifies us as writers. His writing has appeared in Bricks Community magazine.
